Cornwall Regional Hospital

Mount Salem, montego bay

The Cornwall Regional Hospital is a Type ‘A’ hospital and is the only hospital outside of Kingston that provides most of the specialist services. It is located in Mt. Salem, St. James and is a 10-storey, 400-bed capacity, baby-friendly, multidisciplinary institution.

The Cornwall Regional Hospital was the first multidisciplinary hospital constructed in Jamaica since the building of the University Hospital 21 years before. At the time it was considered one of the most elaborate and sophisticated institutions of its kind in the world. It was the largest single investment made by the Jamaican Government and was built to meet the total health needs of the County of Cornwall (see a map of Jamaica for county boundaries), hence the name Cornwall Regional Hospital.

is to play a leading role in the provision of world class accessible health services to clients in a caring and friendly environment through teamwork and dedication.

We strive to attain and maintain prescribed standards, providing accessible services in an effective, efficient and timely manner using good interpersonal relations, resulting in satisfied clients.
