Welcome to the Health Services in the Western Regional Health Authority.
I consider it as an honour and a privilege to serve the over 474,000 residents and business owners of
the Western Region, in Jamaica. Having spent much of my professional career advocating health promotion
and disease prevention, serving as Medical Officer of Health and Senior Medical Officer of Health, it is
a natural progression in my effort to continue that work on a larger scale here in the Western Region as
Regional Technical Director.
Just as it takes effort, commitment, and resources to maintain a healthy body, it takes effort,
commitment, and resources to maintain healthy communities. Fortunately, Western Regional Health Authority
has a long history of employing talented, resourceful, and committed individuals working together to make
our community safe, healthy and productive.
The Region's commitment to Public Health is evident in our numerous programs, including Maternal
and Child Health, Environmental Health, HIV/AIDS Services, as well as Health Promotion and Protection, and
Hospital-based Services, just to name a few. My personal mission is to educate and empower people to make
healthier choices regarding health promotion and disease prevention. I look forward to partnering with the
community to achieve that goal.
